Adam Robinson
Adam is a major project leader for the Environment Agency, an Institution of Civil Engineers Fellow and inaugural ICE Carbon Champion and a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management. Adam is currently leading how the Environment Agency will support, develop and implement innovation and new technology to enhance environmental and net zero outcomes within the UK. Between 2014 and 2022, he was the Project Director for the scheme development, Transport Works Act Order application, Public Inquiry, construction, and delivery of the Boston Barrier Tidal Surge Barrier in the UK, better protecting 13,700 people and businesses when commissioned in December 2020. Between August 2022 and September 2023, and was the Environment Agency’s National Delivery Deputy Director leading on standardisation, embedment of innovation and new ways of working, and asset system delivery maintaining and extending his keen interest in carbon net zero, the application of technology and data integration in infrastructure and connected digital twins to evolve investment and outcomes in the built environment. Adam is an active member of the I-STORM international network for Storm Surge Barriers, the Atlantic Work Group in the development of the ‘Practitioners Exchange for Effective Response to Sea Level Rise’ and the ICE East Midlands Infrastructure Partnership.
